Chair of the APPG Sojan Joseph MP discusses the future of adult social care in Care Home Professional

We are delighted to share a recent interview with Sojan Joseph MP, Chair of the APPG on Adult Social Care, in Care Home Professional, discussing what the new Prime Minister’s plans could mean for the future of adult social care.

The interview brings together Sojan and Alison Bennett MP, Liberal Democrat spokesperson for social care, offering perspectives from opposite sides of the House. Despite their different political perspectives, the interview highlights significant common ground on the urgent need for meaningful and lasting reform of adult social care.

Sojan highlights the pressures facing the sector, including workforce shortages and the impact on the NHS, while welcoming the ambition for a National Care Service and emphasising the importance of greater choice and control, joined-up health and care, and high-quality, accessible support. He also stresses the need to build on existing progress and deliver reform at pace.
