The Minutes of the inaugural Meeting of the APPG on Adult Social Care which took place on Wednesday 29th January 2020, between 4pm and 4:40pm in Room O, Portcullis House.
Attendees - Those in attendance for the meeting were Helen Hayes MP, Jim Shannon MP, Baroness Greengross OBE, Lord Hunt of Kings Heath, Baroness Brinton and Baroness Healy of Primrose Hill. Peter Hand and Ben Rowden were also present from PB Consulting, the Secretariat to the APPG.
Welcome - All those present introduced themselves and their interest in social care and thoughts for the group’s future priorities.
Confirmation of the name and purpose statement of the Group – The APPG for Adult Social Care.
To act as a forum for members of the House of Commons and Lords to engage with the wider adult social care sector, with the aim of engaging in a cross-party and non-partisan manner to influence government policy on the reform of the adult social care system.
